Hi! I am a regular at the citrus forum, but have never posted on this one. I have had a guava tree for several years. It does flower and set fruits before the squirrels get them. I live in Maryland, so it is in a large pot and comes inside for the winter. I have never tasted fruit from this tree. I just found some pretty yummy guavas at the store here...that is not common around here. I thought of trying to grow another tree from seed. Will the tree take forever to produce fruit? I have read some here that got flowers after a year, but read in other articles that it can take up to eight years....either way, it would probably be a fun project for my kids, but I'd rather get fruit. I am Cuban and remember eating delicious guavas as a kid in Havana. Thank you!
