Better fertiliser=better leaves

Well the proof is here, my Arabicums are growing better leaves thanks to Chempak 8 and a repot combo. The thickened corky midribs that these three were pushing out seems to have stopped. Yes there are still some, but they're old and I thought best to leave them till they drop naturally, the new ones are doing just fine.

Before....well you can actually see the better leaves just starting....the old ones were thick, brittle and had this odd corky midrib going on.

After.....Had just this second watered them, so I know they're paddling at the moment! Much better leaves now, they're still firm but no where near as bad as previously and those weird corky patches have disappeared too and no discolouration anywhere, all nice and green. Any odd colour is on old leaves.

Sinha, it's in a very fine granular form, just like sugar. Nice plant you have there too, it's got an interesting caudex. Yes I'm pleased it solved those tough leathery leaves, plus that cork patch was very odd too, all those have disappeared, so something must definitely have been lacking in what I was feeding them...poor things!

Steffen, I think you may be asking me about the 'second' watering? If so, maybe you misunderstood what I wrote? I was meaning that they had just been watered before I took the pic, that minute, that second in fact! Hence the fact that if you look closely at the trays in the multi pot pic, you can see they are actually sitting in the run off....not that this was their second time of watering with the new feed :-) sorry for the confusion!

I totally agree with you Gill, fertilizer and leaf growth totally go hand on hand...two before and after pics of my plants below to turn non believers into believers!!

AFTER

The fertilizer I used was something called Basacote, that too in Jan 16...but since it is slow release its effects are showing now. I also feel that the plant trunk has increased in girth though very slightly.

I do not know the fertilizers you used Gill, as they are not available here (Chempak 8). Is it liquid or granular? It must be having all micronutrients too because your new plant leaves are so shiny and nice.... I think you will see some changes in plant trunk also very soon, now that the leaves have recovered...!! Cheers!!

Ok - got it! Yeah I totaly missunderstood. It realy sounded like a super speedy recovery.

How soon did you notice the yellow patches going away after giving the new nutrition?
