What is that grill on the lower windows? I think the doors and grills are that French Provincial look that was in vogue a few decades ago? All that will have to be replaced.

There is major dissent among HOUZZer's about whether or not to paint brick! Many pros and cons. Do you have the budget to reface the entire front of the house?

What style do you like? Modern or traditional?

Don't paint the brick! Instead you can make the windows tall with a hinge so the entire 2 story window opens. From there give the entry a little modern pop with some merging geometry. You can also mount some cool steel industrial looking trellace (sp) b/w the windows on the brick and grow some amazing flowery vines on them.

I love the arched lattice but they seem out of place. is the material behind them different than the brick? they would look good with a light stacked stone veneer but a rectangular lattice covered with a vine would also work or a few shrubs.
I would add a shed roof over the porch. it could be small with just brackets for support or supported by column or post at edge of porch. Stacked stone bases would look good especially if stone was add in those niches where the lattice are.
I would work with the brick color rather than paint it.

In terms of style - I like more modern. There is something so out of balance with the front of the house.

Thank you for the comments. I am definitely pro painted brick. I couldn't live with them. The back of the house has no brick at all - it's all windows.

@celerygirl - that is the front of the house. The back is all windows - gorgeous. Inside there is lots to do! I think we will pass on it as much as all Houzzers would charge right in, we are not up for the commitment. I wish we could but.... It's a major project.
