I just bought a Rollinia tree. How large did your tree get before it produced? Has the fruit grown much or changed any color? If it's still green then you just have to be patient and wait for it to start to turn yellow.

We planted it 4 or 5 years ago; it's probably grafted, and is about 6 feet tall.

The fruit scales have plumped a bit, but it's still green. Gee, I hope it ripens before the snow comes... : )

Yeah, I hope so too. Luckily here in South Florida, I don't get weather normally lower than 45

joking about the snow--although the top of 13,000' Mauna Kea does get a white cap at least once most winters.

You mean eaten it? no. You mean grown it? no. I suppose this could be a shorter post... :-)

I'm at 1500' elevation (that's like 5 times the highest peak in Fla, right?); lowest recorded temp is hard to pin down, but probably around 40-45 degrees. Only gets above 80 a few times a year (it's not the heat, it's the humidity; I can handle 95 in California, am overwhelmed by 80 here). I don't have a heater or air conditioner. Good thing, we've got the highest electric rates in the country.

Wow! Haha I haven't tried it or grown it before either... I'm just interested in the flavor and the outcome! I just got mine a couple weeks ago. It's about three feet high and the nursery owner said it flowered this year but he pinched them because the tree is still too small. Yeah FL is basically below sea level I think the high "peak" is near me and it's 100 feet... hahaha and the humidity is horrible as well as 85-95 degree temps. We're miserable right now!
