Front Yard Upkeep with Long Driveway

Hello,

Not sure this is in the right sub-forum but I was looking for some opinions to make sure we aren't the hillbillies of the neighborhood. We live about 1200 ft off a County road in a ruralish suburb of Ohio. There are farms around us, even one across the street. You can't see our house from the road due to trees and we are the farthest house back. Most of the houses on the street are set 150 to 300 ft back. We leave the front part of our yard to grow wild. We never planted anything, just let the wild grass, weeds and a very few flowers grow. This area is about 650ft deep. There is a neighbor on one side only. Is this something we should be up keeping regularly? Is this something we should trim down 1ce or 2ce a summer? Or, should we leave it grow as is.
