I think all will be fine with the curtains and rugs when that new dining rug is in place.

Curtains and rugs are great together.

TV console looks about a foot too long for that space. Try moving it to the right as much as you can--just a couple of inches would help. It's crowding the curtain.

Is the rug centered with the table? It should be if it isn't. Chair on the closest end looks like it needs more rug. Pull rug away from window until the table will fit exactly in the center on all dimensions.

The chest by the sliders in the dining area might be better where the tall bookshelves are behind the chair. Try that.

I'm not loving the chair pulled away from the rest of the seating. Include it with the other living room furniture. Could you angle it in toward the sofa next to the console. Move the other chair toward the sofa.

I heart your curtains and rug also, but I would add shears in the lighter color of the curtains to bring in a little more lightness to the space. Your room is beautiful. I do like the idea of adding another color.

Both rooms are really pretty - I love the curtains and I don't think there's any clash at all with the jute. Add some color with pillows, art and/or accessories. Honestly, I don't think the cowhide would add anything, but then again I'm not a cowhide person!

May I ask what kind of floor that is? I like it!

I agree about the tv console being too long and the chair being out of place. Curtains and rug are fine.

I love the rugs and curtains. I agree with Bev about bringing in some bright colors to liven up the area. I also think bringing in some live foliage would add some extra color to the room.

The console is long but I like the contrast it brings to the dark colors in your space and it looks nice with the background of your draperies. Fill in some space on both sides with lamps, large ceramics, etc. Most likely you'll buy an even larger TV next time because men seem to want the biggest in the store.
I probably would have added some color with rugs but that's your personal choice and you nailed it with matching draperies for the space.They look great!

Is it possible to bring the couch out even further towards the dining room? It looks like it's crammed in the corner?

This would allow more room for those fabulous drapes. I would reposition the drapes on the rods so that the inside edge just brushes the window edge.

I agree that moving the TV console a bit to the right would be helpful. Any chance of moving the TV so it's purposely off center to the right? That way it'll still be "centered" for watching when you move the couch (hint,hint.). Then you could use the left side of wall for some fabulous vase with tall branches ...

I would change the orientation of the side chair to face the couch - on an angle in front of the console. Well, right side of it.

What is the item in the corner of the dining room? Must be heavy as rug isn't underneath it? Any chance it wants to live somewhere else?

Looks fantastic to me, just as you have it! (I have a set of scribble curtains that I heart, too, but now I'm loving your grey ones!) The neutral palette works well, and I don't see any problem with the pattern of the curtains in combination with the rug. Great eye! :)

I too love my scribble panels ... I opted to use something with less pattern in the adjacent dining room but only because I already had lots of pattern in my rug. I really like your choice of scribble at all the windows given the jute rug is so neutral (and definitely does not clash)! Looks great!

Great job on your rooms. I think the curtains look great. They are a tad too long. They should just brush the floor. If you are not a sewer then just use fabric tape to hem them. Also so they hang a little straighter you place align the folds from top to bottom then tie a scrap of fabric or a piece of ribbon loosely around them near top middle and bottom. Leave there for a couple of days and the pleats will be softly set. The blue vase on console is a lovely accent color (pull it out from corner) but you need to have it in 3 places around the room. Add a pillow with the blue and a throw to the sofa. The metal sculptures need a 3rd piece on that end. Odd numbers are more visually pleasing. Agree the console should be moved towards slider. It is ok if TV is not centered on it.
