Since the Ipe decking is inside it will hold up really well as
it is a hard wood and isn’t exposed to the outside elements. The shower
area will need the most maintenance which we fabricated it into a separate
piece so it can be removed and maintained and replaced down the road if
needed. Ipe is a little more costly than traditional woods however if oiled
it holds up really well. There is definitely more maintenance than tile
but you don’t get the same look with tile.
