Need help with kitchen

I live in a loft, my kitchen is 20 years old and needs to be updated i'm not sure if the cabinets need to be resurfaced or replace, appliances I don't know if stainless steel, white or black is going to be in as well as the backsplash I have a mirror but it seems that tile is in. It is an open space.

What's your budget? How long do you plan on staying? What works and doesn't work in this kitchen? On first look, it seems as though the oven and refrigerator doors could impede one another. There are many options and styles for cabinets, appliances, countertops, and backsplashes. First figure out what you need and want to spend, then create an ideabook on Houzz with kitchens you like. You'll get an idea of your style and then you can work from there.

Is that your ventilation over the fridge for the stove? Is it to code? Even if it is it must not deal with grease/ smoke. Cabinets look like they are in good shape. If you keep them, you would have more money for backsplash, counters and appliances.
