i think cp will ripen before bk

Also I've noticed black krim always has quite a bit of leaf roll, at least for me anyway.

I've found Black Krim to have more pronounced green shoulders than CP..

Most of my Black Krim fruit will have a little 'insy' like a belly button on the blossom end where the CP will not.

If I'm right I must have gave my Cherokee Purple plants away also here a picture of my tomato plants this is my second year growing.

Black Kim has smaller, roundish fruits often with cracks/green shoulder and has darker look. If you slice them, BK should have darker flesh than CP.

Yeah, BK is prone to leaf role too. JMO

The last time I grew BK, was in 2013. It was a plant that I got from Lowes. It did not do as well as those I had previously grown back in Atlanta. So I stopped growing it.

Few days ago I was at our local Farmers market. I bough a BK tomato and I am saving seeds from it. So the next year I will grow it again.

I will also grow CP, BFT and Indian Stripe. They are all doing great this year so far.

I have never grown CP and this was the first year trying black krim. We really, really like them. The plants have grown out of the cage @ about 4' and have draped down to the ground breaking the stems (my fault, but won't happen next year). They just keep pumping out the tomatoes.

They have a great flavor as well. The only thing I do not like is they come in all shapes and sizes...and my experience so far tells me to pick them early and let them ripen up on a table in the sunroom. If you let them vine ripen, they split and the birds / bugs tare them up! We have had an unusually wet summer her in SW Ohio.

Yes, picking early (after color break) and letting them ripen inside has few benefits , one of which is avoiding cracks and spoilage.

I would set then away from direct sun once inside.

Mine produce a lot of tomatoes but they get soft by they are ready to pick.

I am thinking about growing Black Krim in 2017 in place of Cherokee Purple. Though CP has a very good taste but it has been a low producer for me. This year I am also growing Indian Stripe. It has probably twice as many tomatoes compared to CP.

PS: I am also growing an unknown variety ( from store OP/Heirloom tomato ) . It is also a better producer than CP.

The fruit looks like IS but its foliage is different.
