Which grout? (Haaallp)

These are mixed matte and glossy finish glass tiles. The color is hydrangea. The two grout options are white and sterling. Would you go with standard white and have it "pop" a bit, or the sterling and have it all sort of blend in?

Sterling. Is this a DIY job?

Despite the look of it right now, it's not a DIY. Installer has encountered a problem every step of the way though :(

Enza - hang in there! If you're at backsplash, I'm hoping you're on the home stretch. Are you living in the house?

Awfully awesome!!! I like the sterling color better. I love your cabinet pulls too.

The tile is beautiful. It just looks a little uneven and bumpy to me. Maybe it's my screen.

Daisychain, thanks for talking me off the ledge. Noting in this house renovation has gone right the first time, and no way I can buy anymore of these tiles!

thansk to all for your thoughts !

I agree with Daisychain. Handmade tiles are perfectly imperfect, and that's what makes them special.

For example, this is an installation example on the Fireclay website for the glass tiles like yours. I see some waviness and maybe a little lippage here. You think they would put a bad tile job on their website? No, it's because each tile is handmade and is not going to be cookie cutter perfect. That is the appeal for some of us, and unappealing for others. It is a YMMV thing.

Enza, I think once you grout it, yours will be stunning!

So what happened? Did it get grouted? Do we at least get a sneak peak? :-)

Tiles are all up! Grout is getting done this afternoon. I will definitely post a sneak peek when it's done!

Great - such a ton of visual interest. Glad you are going with Sterling -that tile stands out so much on it's own, you don't need to highlight the grout lines. I think highlighting the grout works better for a more plain tile to add interest.

So, I just saw the finished pic on my iPad on your other post. Wow, amazing. I was completely wrong and should have opened up the full pic rather than commenting from my phone. Sorry about that. Gorgeous!
