Is this pull appropriate for pulling a cabinet door open?

I'm wondering if I can use this pull vertically for opening a cabinet door or drawer. Is there a lip on the inside opening to get your fingers into for pulling? Or is this only appropriate for pushing the sides of the opening to slide doors horizontally?
