propane tank vs direct gas line for outdoor kitchen

We are building a grill island (built in grill, small fridge and burner) into our paver patio and debating whether we should get a built in grill that uses propane tanks or hooks up directly to our gas line. We have heard pros and cons for both but still on the fence. Appreciate any advice on the matter! Thanks!

Mostly cost related. Need a more expensive grill and it's harder to replace down the road. But this is going to be an 10k + project so I want to make the right choices from the beginning even if it is a little more cost upfront

We have had both. I will never do the direct gas line again. My husband and sons on occasion forget to turn off the grill. If you leave on a propane grill, it runs out quickly. If you leave your natural gas grill on, it remains dangerous longer and you get a gas bill north of $1K. After that happened more than once, the natural gas grill. Now they have a green egg.

We live in a flood zone with power outages, we ultimately went with propane tanks, but one of the big discussions we had was being able to additionally use the gas line for our generator if we went in that direction.

WE use a line to a propane tank and find it very convenient.
