tomato growth in 30 days..

last modified: 10 years ago

i realize there is a hydroponic forum, but figured maybe this will encourage more people to try growing tomatoes hydroponically. this is a big beef plant that was a twig only 30 days ago. it out grew my tomato plants in soil by at least 8x. it's in a 5 gal bucket, retrofitted with a 54" tomato cage. the plant already grew to the top of the cage and is over 4 ft tall. it's a dirt cheap setup that only cost less than 25 dollars to put together including nutrients. i will recommend anyone who tries this to use a slightly larger bucket because the plant is consuming about 3 gallons of water every day and will likely increase as the plant growth is explosive.

if anyone is looking for any tips, etc. feel free to ask.
