Finished in time

I finished the HS graduation quilt Friday night, washed and wrapper and presented on Saturday. Red and grey are the recipients college colors. It is smaller than a twin, but big enough she can sit outside on it with friends. I told her to use it and enjoy. Thanks for the Wickedly Easy quilt example. Not bad for three weeks. And I can tell I am getting better. The pieces pieced and corners mitered perfectly. I'm always so hard on myself, so I was very pleased.

Have you ever had a problem buying a fat quarter and it wasn't the real size, but smaller? The Wickedly Easy pattern suggests fat quarters that will provide a block worth of fabric. The quarters were short so I couldn't get the right number of pieces out of them. Thank goodness for a stash.

You could never tell by the quilt that you had problems, Bev. That's one of the great things about scrappy quilts. You did a great job on this and she should be able to use it for a variety of things for a long time. One of my nieces keeps her lap quilt in her car during the winter time to use when traveling. The important thing is that it gets used. :-)

It's great, Bev! Is she going to Ohio State? (Just asking...I made a baby quilt w/ Ohio State colors.)

Yes, I've gotten FQs that were cut crookedly or shrank a lot when prewashed. It's really aggravating!

Thank you, everyone. Not Ohio state, Indiana Wesleyan, Donna. Looks like a lovely week for gardening here, so no quilting until it heats up again. I've got a Lotto winning sandwiched (the one I was working on when I fell off the step stool while hanging the design wall and broke my arm. LOL) And would love to finish that up next.
