The first looks like flowers of a member of the Asteraceae, so not Soapwort. Possibly Chamomile. No idea what the other one is. And if you don't know what they are I am wondering why you are using them?

Chamomile - right... that's the first one.

All for the herbs I have in jars, including the two pictured, I have used in the past to make a hair rinse. They include Horsetail, Southernwood, Nettles, Soapwort, Chamomile, and a couple others. Those are the only herbs I have - and they are all safe to use for the purpose in which I use them. It's just that it's been a really long time - years - since I have used any, and I forget what these two are, as I failed to label them.

So, I was hopeful to see if someone might know, and also how long they last.

If they are very old all the essential oils will have dried up anyway. Just as you wouldn't keep cooking herbs for more than a year or so, the same would apply to hair rinse herbs. So it might just be better to start again. But there's no harm in using them if they are just for that application.

if you could take some of the material out of the jars and spread it out a bit we could have a go at the other ids.

I don't recognise it. But Stinging nettle produces fibres, it can even be spun into yarn. Does your herb seem fibrous?
