Need help for kitchen floor color, design

I just took up some off-white 12"x12" tiles in my kitchen and entryway. I opened my kitchen up last year by taking a wall down, and had some subfloor showing with no extra tiles. This is why I took it up. I was planning on just redoing the kitchen and entire main area with the same flooring to make the space flow and feel bigger, but it's going to be too expensive for what I want. I am not back to just redoing the tile with something more current. My cabinets are Ben Moore Dove White. My counter tops are brown granite with speckles of black. I also have a countertop and the pass thru area that is stainless steel. The laminate that it butts up to is a reddish oak. The backsplash is stainless steel. My house is pretty contemporary. I know these are a lot of different colors and styles so maybe I need to just redo everything :-( I am on a budget though and will be doing all of the work myself.

I was thinking of a dark slate gray floor or white-beige tile in a 12"x24" size. I may use some flat floor pebbles to blend or transition the 2 floors, and plan on doing a curved transition and joining the kitchen to the garage entry way so it's not so choppy.

I would appreciate any thoughts. I AM willing to paint my cabinets but don't want to.

This looks a tan different as I have painted the bottom cabinets white and the granite backsplash piece is now stainless steel.
