Is there no fruit growing at all, or are you just noticing that some do not develop?

fruit stays the same size for a long time, not growing big.

I would suspect a stressed plant or poor pollination.

1) Are there any other signs of stress on the plant?

2) Has the weather been particularly hot during the day or particularly cold at night?

3) Are these your first flowers on the plant?

4) Where are you located?

5) Are you growing in containers? If so, what size? What potting medium? Fertilizer?

I have lots of them.

And my plants are not stressed. They are all very healthy and happy.

I think the cause in my case is cool temperatures. ( hin 60s low in high 40s). Some of my plants started flowering more than 6 weeks ago. They have lots of nubs and very few real fruits are growing. This is even despite the fact that I used tooth brush to get good pollination. So I am sure they got pollinated but the plants just not feeding them.(Male Madre : -))

Low temperatures stress plants, no? So they are waiting for less stressful temperatures, i.e. temperatures that are closer to an ideal range for their physiology.

If the plants were stressed, how come they are 6ft tall already ?

I think we are just defining "stress" differently. I can be stressed yet perfectly healthy, but just not able to go that extra mile because of the burden of the stress. I think it's the same with any organism.

To answer your questions:

1) No other signs of stress

2) The temperature is 14-22C ish these days. It was cooler in last two weeks. There was much rain.

3) yes. first flowers. one fused.

4) Location: Vancouver

5) It is in the raised bed. Old soil from last mixed with much compost, manure, peat moss and some sands. I used slow release tomato fertilizer and applied little limestone for Ca etc.

If it's your first flowers, that's something else. I find that the first flowers are basically write-offs. They're often deformed in various ways and tend to not set fruit or fail to develop fruit. I used to think this was from cold, but this year I was late and plants did not start flowering until warm weather and it still happened to some degree. So I think that the initial one or two trusses are often mistimed from the plant's perspective, i.e., they form when the plant would still rather be putting energy into "infrastructure", i.e., expanding the root system and growing foliage, thickening stems, etc., so they don't get the full investment of the plant the way later trusses do.

EDIT: And, of course, cool temps + rain do not help.
