I want to FMQ the Lotto wall hanging. And maybe continue piecing a charity quilt. It looks like a lovely holiday weekend, so I don't want to be shut up too long inside. I hope everyone in America enjoys their 4th of July celebrations.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing.....a little stressed about DH's sister. Her daughter came down and moved her back to Michigan last week, which is a good thing in my opinion, but we got word yesterday she's in the hospital with a blood clot between her brain and skull. She has other medical problems and the drs haven't decided if they want to do surgery or not. I tried to sew this morning but cannot concentrate enough to make decisions. It must be time to sew a few crumb blocks.

I need to quilt the top I pieced last weekend. It shouldn't take more than a day. I also need to clean the house. Then I can sit down and decide what I'm going to work on next!

This morning, I prepared the backing and batting for a top in " the pile". And then took 20 blocks I had made a few weeks ago and made up that top. Now have to find something for borders for it.

it felt strange sitting at the machine after a long break, but good!

Our 9th great-grandbaby was born this afternoon a few days early. He weighed in at 10 lbs 6 ozs so I think he was ready enough. He was taken to the NICU as his glucose and oxygen levels were low. He's on oxygen but I don't know what they're doing about the glucose level. Sounds like he needs a piece of chocolate candy to me. lol

Yes, Sharon, congratulations on newest baby. We only have one great and I don't think there will be anymore for a longish time.

Just finished sandwiching two quilts. My knees are objecting to the hard kitchen floor. Do you think a memory foam floor would work?

Question: At what point do you decide on your quilting pattern? While you are piecing? When you sit and look at the sandwich? Or somewhere in between?

Since I don't fmq, it has to be pretty much straight line designs or echo or outline. And depending on the size of the quilt, how much twisting and turning is doable. Just wondering!

Now I am going to take a book and sit on the deck!

Theresa, my FMQ repetoire is limited so I usually wait until I am ready to quilt to decide. I was so happy to see my hearts along a string pattern was much better than it used to be. Really encouraged me to try other designs. I think I'm going to heavily quilt the wallhanging, something I've never done.
