I am seeing white specks and thinning of the leaves on my outdoor herbs and now my indoor plants. There are small tiny black specks on the underside of the leaves and shiny black dot on top. Pics below and I can upload more if needed.

If you have any clue what these are please help! Through some research I am thinking they might be thrips. Also, any advice on how to get rid of the pest would be appreciated -- I would hate to lose all my plants.
