    I space Male Fern 24" apart. They are not very aggressive runners, so 24" covers quite nicely. Other ferns have different spacing though, for example I space Autumn Fern 18" apart and ferns that are larger and spread, like Ostrich Fern, I'd plant 30-36" apart. Hope that helps.

      Lobelia, I've not used this fern is such a tropical zone, but my research shows that it is hardy to Zone 8 or Zone 9. You might want to think about something a little more suitable for your area, maybe a Foxtail Fern (Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers') or a Southern Shield Fern (Dryopteris ludovciana). Hope that helps!

      Pachysandra terminalis (Japanese pachysandra). There was a pretty good size bed of Pachysandra on the site before we started working on the project and we added to that existing bed.
