Help me layout this gallery wall

Yes? No? Does it need more? Gallery walls are such a commitment I want be sure I do it right before I per more holes in this wall. I could drum up more art if you think it needs it.

PS I love florals (obviously) and I like having the different frames. I wish I had a piece that was a face- like a portrait. Or piece that was more contemporary.

Love the wall color! from my very non- professional opinion, add some not-really-art pieces. Plates, silver platters, framed needlepoint? How about some photos? Not neccessarily of people. Also, will u line up all along a horizontal line? Or place all in a loose circle? Or have it cascade from a high point to a low ,ending by the lamp? I would look at Pinterest for ideas and gather up things beforehand. Def post progress pics.

Agree. Before you attempt to hang the pictures, cut out templates and tape them to the wall. We can then advise seeing them above the sofa.

The picture on the left looks too dark in relation to the others and the two on the bottom look too similar to each other. It's also a good idea if the frames are not too dissimilar in color. I would have a look under Paintings in e-bay. They have a wealth of original art, much of it very affordable, and you should be able to find several pieces that really appeal to you. From what you have there I like the vase picture on the right and the landscape at the top. I would look for more pictures that are contemporary to go with the vibe of your room. I have a lot of art, including two gallery walls, but I've never used templates: I just lay them out on the carpet. I would say you definitely need more pictures. A head and shoulder portrait or two would probably be more interesting than just flowers.

If you're happy with this grouping, the no need to read further on my post.

    ------------------------

If you're not, then, for me, one of these is not like the other....

I like the florals, but then there is the landscape....

Or I like the softer pastels, but then there is the black...

I'd think about limiting it to one or the other or else adding more of something else (black or other type of art) so that the whole arrangement has a little more thematic balance.

Have you thought about using command adhesive picture hangers (the velcro-like strips)?

Left side seems heavy and I would try separating the two similar pictures. I also like the idea of trying different items like sculpture and wall vases. I actually have a ceramic shell attached to my wall with command adhesive strips. I have seen some lilypad plates at Arhaus that I thought about. Candle sconces are another option. And korbel-like shelves. You might try to find a long skinny curved flower sculpture and play with that concept. Can you download images and mock something up in photoshop or an app? You can use colored rectangles for the framed pics you already have.

I would also look at gallery pics on pottery barn, rh, arhaus, anyplace that sells decor and frames.

The dark frame and picture on the left looks like the outlier. I want to do a gallery wall so will be looking at what you are doing with it.
