I'm in love with the look of this floor but what about staining?

I love this floor and am hopeful the oil finish will be good for hiding and spot repairing scratches my dog will cause. But now I'm concerned about stains. Will my dog (13+ years old) ruin my floor if he pees while I'm at work and I don't get it up right away? What if I spill red wine? Would love some advice.
