My kitchen is being done in stages, countertops and tile, sink and cooktop were completed but we have to refinish the cabinets and flooring still. Not picture worthy at this point.

dlkula, very nice with your dark counters. I worried that with my white/marble-like counters that it would look like a hospital. At least I can "wash" my grout with White down the line if I change my mind. :)

dlkula Very pretty. We also have dark counters, went with black pearl on the perimeter to hold down the glare from the windows. Is that Virginia mist? Loved that.

brittbelquist, I don't know abut that, I would definitely make him use Spacers! I caught several places where my guy forgot to use them and the grout line was not straight there at all. He was able to still straighten it out with spacers, as the grout had not dried yet.

brittbelquist, are you using Artigiano, on the Daltile spec page they recommend 1/8" spacing. Our installer used spacers.

Hello all! I'm putting the same tile in my white kitchen. My granite is dark blueish gray. What are your thoughts on navy grout??

I'm wondering if you ever changed your grout or did you decide to live with the warm gray? You covered every Mapei color I'm trying to decide between at the moment.

Meghan, I kept my Warm Gray grout and LOVE it. In fact, I didn't even recall that I didn't like the Warm Gray grout initially after it was completed until I read the posts again. :) The grout color is just enough contrast to the tile and it flows with my soft marble-like quartz counters. I would choose the same grout color again.

Thank you so much for responding, I didn't see an alert that you replied to my comment so I'm just now seeing this. I took a chance ended up purchasing the warm gray for my master shower - I'm feeling even better now seeing your comment! Now I can't wait to see it installed.

Eden, my cabinets came painted already (they are semi-custom), but they perfectly match Sherwin Williams' Extra White paint color. I extended this color to all trim work, as well.

Meghan Ramos, do you have pictures of the warm gray grout in your shower?? Would love to see. It is the color I am leaning towards , and although the warm gray looks great in lisar789’s kitchen, I’d love to see it in the bathroom!

Megan, I love your shower, thank you posting. i am going crazy trying to decide on grout color for white subway. Did you use the Epoxy version of the Warm Gray from Mapei. I have been trying to decide between the Warm gray and the Cobblestone. But after seeing your photos I think the Cobblestone is too dark, even though I'm going for somewhat of a farmhouse cottage look.

@cropitsk I did unsanded mapei warm grey. If you want something a little darker I wouldn’t hesitate to go with cobblestone - seems to have slightly more brown tone of gray. I googled photos of the grout colors I was interested in and that helped. I did pearl gray with my 3x6 white subway tile in my kitchen - it’s much darker and exactly what I wanted. Makes the grout lines pop.

@Meghan Ramos Can you post a picture of pearl gray in your kitchen? I am hesitating between Warm Grey, Pearl Gray, Frost, and Cobblestone...

unrelated, where are the stools form and now that you have had time to sit in them, are they comfy?

I purchased my stools from HomeGoods and they are NOT comfy and I rarely sit on them due to this! 😄 They are hard as a rock, but other people don’t seem to mind them as much as I do.

lisar789 your kitchen is beautiful! I think the contrast between your tiles and grout is perfect! I’m struggling with the same decision with grout color as well since I am getting white countertops/cabinets and also don’t want my room to appear sterile. Thank you for all your posts! And, Megan Ramos, your grout choices in your bathroom are equally as beautiful!

I used Mapei frost on my 3x12 off white tiles and really like it. Just a very soft contrast. The bright white was too stark when we tested it.

Hello!  Glad to have found this post.  I'm debating between warm gray and cobblestone for my white 10" hex floor tile in our bathroom.  Could you guys please post photos of your finished project with the warm gray grout?  Thanks!

Does anyone think warm grey could look beige once up? The sample stick is so different from cobblestone and silver. Is there a “no fail” grey grout???

lisar789, I think it turned out very beautiful!

I used Warm Grey with white herringbone tile for kitchen backsplash where I wanted a soft contrast and love it! Doesn't go beige at all even under warmer lights. I also could have gone with Alabaster as both were close matches to the grey in my countertop but I didn't want any bit of yellow.

I used Avalanche with white wall tiles in shower because I wanted a seamless white look but feel it's still a touch yellow and might have chosen Frost instead.

I've also used Pewter as a darker version of Warm Grey with floor tile that had warmer mid-greys in the mix.

Looking at the undertones nearby and your lighting also help get the look you want.

Uh, this is from 2016. They probably chose their grout by now.

@lisar789I think your kitchen tile looks just like mine and I have a dilemma with my herringbone pattern disappearing because I chose white grout. My tile guy is going to correct it and I am trying to decide if I should go with Frost or Warm Gray. Someone suggested that neither of those would be dark enough due to the "handmade look of my tile and it's irregular lines," however, I feel like your grout looks great and is still not harsh which I want to avoid. I am including a photo of my tile that was just completed. I wish someone would have told me not to choose white...ugh!

debbie Fox I did warm gray in my shower above and it's definitely noticeable, my shower tile is not totally straight and somewhat handmade looking. What other colors are in your kitchen and surrounding area?

Debbie, I went with Warm Gray grout and despite my initial regret post above, 6 years later, I am very happy I went with it! Did you see my post above where a kitchen designer told me not to add Sealer to my grout, so if I was unhappy with outcome, I could put a color wash on grout to change it? You could try that first, perhaps?

@Meghan Ramos thank you for writing! I don’t see the pic of your shower🤔. My island is iron ore and I have lots of gray and beige in surrounding areas.

@lisar789 my grout currently does not have a sealer so he will be able to put the darker grout on thankfully. I can’t decide if I should go with warm gray like yours or frost which is what we chose in this photo of my shower. Someone on here was suggesting that I had “a lot going on” and I should leave it as it is but I really want to see the pattern. Why else would you choose herringbone if you don’t want to see the pattern?

Debbie, I am wondering if a colored grout might make the herringbone pattern too busy? What about hanging a big wooden cutting board on the tile or leaning several cutting boards against it? I hung a framed piece of art on my white tile backsplash using Command strips.

I am trying to upload my shower that has the herringbone but I am having problems. I will keep trying.

@lisar789 here is my shower. Same gloss and undulated tile with a double herringbone and Frost grout. I feel like it is just enough contrast without being too harsh. 🤔

@debbie Fox did you end up darkening your kitchen tile? Happened to be searching on here for warm grey, frost vs laticrete light pewter.

I actually love your kitchen as it is with white grout. With the sheen, I can still distinguish the herringbone.

I have a tile (la belle purity) which we are ready to grout. It has slight variation, so choosing a grout has me stumped. Have a sample board with bright white (laticrete) and now waiting on warm grey to dry.

@lisar789, did you compare frost with warm grey before choosing?
