I love a dry creek. The first time I ever saw one was on a garden tour and I was so impressed. The couple would grab their back packs every day and walk the beach for stones. It took them several years to finish it, but it was a work of art when they did.

I did a pseudo one in front of my house which connects to my Japanese garden. I used black stones. I have a big rock in the middle and I planted Japanese iris around the stone which bloom for several weeks, leaving behind tall spiky green leaves.

Looking at your picture, do you have stones for the ground cover now? How do you plan to make the dry creek look different?
