Window treatment help needed

Hello!
My first post here. We just moved into this lovely home. The two-story living room has honeycomb shades in all windows except for the big arched window in the middle. That has a pair of white drapes thumbtacked(!) over it, and they have to go!! Please suggest a decent window treatment for this wall.

I looked into a honeycomb for the big window, and they quoted me $850-$1,000 so that is my last option.

Not changing the paint yet, the furniture is new so that stays as well.
Windows are south facing, so we get lots of light in the daytime. Privacy is not a concern as there are woods in the back.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, the louvered shutters and custom screens are mucho dinero, more than I'm willing to spend right now! Down the road possibly.....

Leaving it uncovered and maybe tinting the window panes is a great idea.

The chicken scratching in the last pic...... Does covering the lover half of the window and leaving the arch open look okay?

Can you just leave the whole window uncovered, or do you need something to filter the light?

Would you be open to tinting the windows? It would definitely save your power bill.... And what about custom louvered shutters? That way you could control the light.

It would be lovely if you could just leave the window uncovered, like Emily B suggested.
If not, just a wild idea, an electric remote controlled screen on the outside. Mounted above the window. I don't know what the outside of the house looks like, but if it's white, do a white screen. If the roof starts at the top of this wall, it could be just under the roof, so it won't be very visible.
On the other hand, this may be even more expensive than the quote for the honeycomb :-D

I would only do window treatments on the lower windows and leave the upper windows alone. There are numerous photos on Houzz in the window treatment section. You may find an example there that you like. Go to the main page and click on window treatments---over 149,000 examples!

I just did a search for "two story window treatments" on the main Houzz page and there are 2000+ examples.

I think you can write the tint off with your local power energy savers program. Check that out. Gook luck.

If you need a cheap option, buy the tinted film at Home Depot and apply it to the glass. That will help with your heat gain, but it won't really cut the sunlight issue. Honeycomb is going to be your best bet. And, yes, when you get the scaffold rented to deal with this high window / window covering, you might as well plan ahead to paint.

How about sheers draping as you show but straight down in a blue similar to sofa colour.
U can double them up to reduce light but still have an ethereal feel, not heavy. And with the upper three windows I would leave uncovered and look into all the new alternatives to adding some colour to the glass other than stained since that is expensive. Cheers oh and some artwork in that empty area between fireplace and windows is needed.

you can treat the arched window similar to the way I did in the previous post, but here's a variation that we did where the ends "cascade" and frame a piece of metal art:

then, you could treat the side windows as shown in my "chicken scratching" here - I would definitely tint your windows for UV protection and use sheer fabric to create the treatment shown:
