Little girls are only little girls for a few years. I think that pale yellow walls with broad lavender stripes would be a nice look. Sherwin-Williams Morning Sun is a nice yellow and the stripes could be SW Rhapsody Lilac.

My granddaughter went through loving pink and purple when she was around the age of your little girls. My daughter decorated her room with pink or purple carpet (It's been a few years) and the other color on the wall. She purchased drapes with pink and purple in them and I made my granddaughter a beautiful quilt with fans in the colors of her room. I agree with Carolyn that you should use the colors your little girls love because they will not be that age very long.

I think Mark is onto something. But I would go significantly lighter than carpet.

Thank you for the responses. Mark and C F, one of our original paint choices was Benjamin Moore "dreamy cloud." It falls a little flat for me, but maybe a shade darker (and still lighter than carpet)? (The photo was taken with lights on, in afternoon light which is why it's slightly yellow in the top half)

I think you need to paint a much bigger swatch with multiple coats and reassess. I would paint that whole corner with the door frame and baseboard, near your carpet. The lavender tone is going to reflect off itself pretty strongly once you paint all of the walls. See how you feel about it when you see more of it on the wall.
