We are closing on this house in a few weeks and working on some changes prior to the move- I want to connect the space between the kitchen and family room- kitchen has low ceiling but family room two story- feels too formal, less cozy than i wish- can anyone give ideals to create connection, ideas to 'denormalize' the family room - we are having the floors and cabinets redone- looking at a pearl or linen cabinet with grey stain and a greige hardwood stain...any advice would be appreciated on how to connect these spaces into one cozy space. thanks!
