Leathered granite?

Looking at using leathered black granite in our kitchen surround, love the look! However, we are concerned about this products integrity. Does this scratch easier than honed or polished? Does this product stain easier? Can anyone comment on this with a year or two in heavy use?

I have a natural quartzite I had leathered before fabrication. I have LOVED it and am super happy I had it leathered. I've had it for about 4 years or so. It is on my island, which is the busiest part of my kitchen. I use my kitchen a ton.

I have leathered granite and find it very durable. It does not scratch. I have a dark color, so maybe I'm not the best to comment about staining, but there is no staining. It does not show water spots and even the errant crumb is a little less obvious than on polished or honed. Love it!
