We have two half baths on the main floor - one off foyer and a second in the laundry room off the garage. There are four other full baths on upper and lower floors. I want to remove the bath in the laundry room to make it more functional. My husband insists this will lower the value of the house. I disagree since we would still have 4.5 baths for a 4 bedroom house and at least one bath on each floor. Having a bath off garage is convenient for service people and when coming in from yard work. But those occurrences are infrequent and the current layout of the laundry room is awkward, and the only way to reconfigure it is to remove the bath entirely. Would we lose value?
