Knowing your zone and general location (and perhaps a better pic) would really help.

If it's spreading fast, you might consider checking your state department of agriculture's noxious weed list to make sure it's not on the list. I once planted a cute snapdragon-like plant that spread amazingly fast. So I checked the Colorado Dept. of Ag weed list and discovered that it was toadflax. I tore it all out in a hurry.

do you mean this is a ground cover in the front yard....that means you don't have to mow? WOW - you might want to keep it! Do Pollinators enjoy the blossoms??
