I agree. You can get some great fabrics at HL and other "discounted" stores. Anxious to see pictures!

I don't have a hobby lobby near me, so I can't really comment. After a few bad experiences, I now stick with named brand fabrics. My favorite brands are art gallery fabrics (AGF) dear Stella, moda and a few others. AGF can be pricey, however, they can be found in sales on-line..as are others.... My favorite way to shop!

I usually go by price and feel. Incredibly cheap (unless on a close out) and thin is usually not going to hold up well. It should feel heavier. If you see some on the shelf cheap, and others expensive, feel both and you'll see what I mean. If in doubt, pre wash it and see how it held up. Even JoAnns has some better fabrics now days and for years we always avoided them.

I think HL has a good mix of fabrics. They carry Kona cotton solids, but a cheaper solid color line as well. I've bought Robert Kaufman there and accidentally gotten a Kaufman knockoff. I think you just have to choose carefully.

Go to a quilt fabric store and handle their material. (You don't need to buy.) Get a 'feel' for it. Then when you go to Hobby Lobby you'll have some idea of how their different lines feel.
