I have five camellias all next to each other that form a neat and trimmed hedge between our property and a shared driveway. I believe they were planted in approx 1960. The highest of these would be 4.5mts tall. Recently my neighbours removed and renewed the old cracked driveway from next to the hedges and replaced it with a new solid concrete driveway.
Shortly after this I noticed that my hedge was dying off on the driveway side only,
a lot of the leaves were falling off and leaving big holes in the foliage. I am presuming it is because of the lack of water to half the roots now there is a solid surface over them and not the old cracked surface. Will the camellias survive and regenerate?
