It is just a golden form of Green Giant (same hybrid parentage) but reputed to be slightly more compact. Goes by the trade name of Ember Waves. It's a pretty new release so doubt many have any long term experience with it. I would think it would compliment the rich, dark color of the Green Giants quite nicely and prefer similar growing conditions!!

define what you mean by 'next'? ... the spacing noted above.. just every other tree yellow???

always add where you are.. z7 is kinda nebulous ...

i am wondering how large your property is.. the spacing seems right ... but they will get wide also ... could eat up a lot of a small yard ...

yellow plants are not green ... so they usually have some level of reduced vigor.. from the same all green version ... it often depends if the yellow greens up.. at some time during the season .... but that is usually ok with me.. who needs them to all be exactly the same size .... e.g. if in 10 years.. the yellows are a few feet shorter ... good enough for me..

im not to impressed by the suggested planting advice above.. especially the fert .. all they want is to sell you more product for bigger profit ... see planting guide below ...

Ken, What I mean by "next" is in the vicinity. I am going to try and place them randomly. None of them will be closer than 8 feet to any other plant, and yes they are probably too big for my small yard, but for the next 10 or so years they should be great. I will check out the planting guide.

I'd plant the them in front of the Green Giants rather than randomly mixed in.

A good arrangement is one yellow conifer in the center, flanked by a small number of blue ones, and then all the rest of the screen a green kind. So in this instance I would have fewer yellow - as in one only - and more of the green, with a third, blue kind also included.
