Hi and thanks for inquiring. Technically you could use this without a liner, but then you would have to leave it in your tub to dry out for a bit. That would go with any curtain that claims you dont need a liner and to be honest, we dont believe one exists. Ours is made of Polyester and will not hold moisture. The weave is tight enough where it shouldnt leak. But lets say you shower before a party, then this has to stay in the tub til it dries and wont look good.
