My wee dog is always hyper; the JRT part, and I often long for a quieter dog.. the Bedlington was blissfully calm and when I said so, the lady said that a family member calls it " an acceptable dog" .. neatly put! Weather variable.. Ireland is one huge bog.

if you want a quiet couch potato, rescue a senior great dane! LOL ;)

I can vouch for Greyhounds being a great rescue. Healthy breed. Long lived. Generally great with people and other dogs. Laid back. Require little exercise. Not "skitish" - a wrong stereotype.

The occasional Greyhound is not safe with small "critters." (Cats and very small dogs.) Others are just fine! My rescue groups tries to assess each dog's attitude in this area. My dog is fine with small domestic critters, but she has got some bunnies and mice in my back yard and she has devoted the remainder of her life to trying to get a squirrel.

I had (English) Bulldogs for decades before getting mt Willow last year. (She came from a track in Tampa, FL. 147 races. Disposition is similar to my Bulldogs. However, the Greyhound is smart!

EVERYTHING is new to them when they come from the track. Never seen stairs, nor hard floors, nor furniture, nor glass windows and doors, etc, etc.

Certainly never seen the inside of a clothes dryer before.

Thanks for the photo and yes she is very cute.. A strange mixture though. We knew the mother was JRT but took us a while to work out the other half. Dog had been dumped while in pup. We thought dachshund at first, then the front feet turned in, the chest went down and the eyes! That bassett face and weight.. people keep accusing me of overfeeding her but she is solid bone...eats very little. Wired to the moon too..
