It depends on the style of the bed. Is it modern or traditional? Does it have tufting? How high are the ceilings? Even a picture could help. :)

It is a contemporary bed with tufting and the ceilings are 8 feet high.

But I will just say: imo, you are overthinking this. And returning to this forum may not help you to stop overthinking it. There are no rules. People make up their beds in various ways. So do what looks good in your eyes. It’s your home.
