I think I prefer the Blue Heaven. My ‘Creole Lady’ is busy growing vegetatively, I hope to see some blooms set soon though.

maritza. i dont know what its name is but its really pretty-n-pink...:)

Thanks, cindykboose, your rose of sharon is very pretty too.

    Nice ones, Merkitty.

Nice ones everyone. This one I started from a cutting last year. It actually bloomed the first year. This one is from a few days back. Does anyone know the name of this tropical variety. Sort of looks like Enlightenment that merkitty posted.

    A close up.

And this one I started from cutting this year. There are actually 3 in there. The 4th one did not make it.

i think its Best of Times.

do you start your cutting in water?

I start my cuttings in 511 mix usually. But the above yellow hibiscus was started in a leftover pine fines and perlite fines left over from making 511. It is 1:1 pine bark and perlite. Not the best medium.

im trying to root in water was in the propagation thread.

Tropicofcancer, the first has two names, Spin the bottle and Cosmic dancer, I have it in my garden. Is a hybrid Cajun

Will be this the other? I don't see good the picture

Thanks Maritza, the first one seems spot on. Thanks a bunch for the
ID. I like Cosmic Dancer as a name. The second one seems different.
Yours has a orange center and is beautiful. Mine is uniformly yellow. I
will have to wait till the mother plant blooms again. All the recent
    rain has destroyed the blooms.

Cindy: I always prefer to root in a
mix (or something pretty close) they will be eventually be in. It
greatly increases success with humidity domes. Like this one:

    For taller/larger cuttings:

Both have adjustable vents to control internal humidity.

maritza do u get seeds from it?

my pink flamingo tropical bloomed again. took it a month after i pruned it.

do you cut them back to ground in fall?

No I do not do that usually. If I do prune it hard it is only to alter the shape of the plant. Sometimes they can become tall and lanky in my yard. That is because they are in a shady area next to a fence. I would prune back hard and when new branches come out I selectively prune those away to make it bushier and smaller in height.

cindykboose, I have obtained seeds but the rain is destroying them; raining every day here.

nice blooms! I recently got Chinese chiffon ROS that is blooming and has a nice seed pod on it. I also have a few cuttings, one of which should boom soon...not sure which ROS it is yet...

suppose i could add couple more blooms....

    Moorea Merveille Intensity

Tahitian Princess ( the bottom one)

    Moorea Imperial Blossom

nice! you have a big variety!

I like your rose of sharon. I prefer the tree form, so I never hard prune.

thank u logan. this was the only one of 6 that survived winter in z4. it gets full sun all day. i wanted a hedge along a fence.
