Just finished remodeling our smaller pond about three weeks ago. This pond is only about two feet deep with a slightly deeper area for the pump. We made it smaller and shallower for ease of maintenance as we get older.

We added 10 small Wal-Mart fish a week ago and purchased four water hyacinths and water lettuce this week.

The pond is in the shade until about 11:00-noon and then in full sun until about 6:00. We live in central Oklahoma and have been over 100* all week.

The pond is lined with red sandstone rocks and the fish swim in amongst them in the heat of the day.

Question: Do we need to shade a corner of the pond? We live in the country and have well water and leave a small trickle going.
