Color help?

Our kitchen is now gutted and finishing selections are now being made. I am concerned about the wall and floor color in our open concept kitchen/ living room!! Looking for your awesomeness once again! This picture shows 2 paint strips of the colors we are debating for the walls. (The dark gold wall you see in background is the current wall color. Our curtains are the same as that black striped pillow. Our sofa and chair are the caramel leather like the cushion. We are thinking about a medium brown stained floor (maybe something like Jacobean??). Kitchen cabinets will be dove white with a dark brown island! Does this give you enough info to help me out? Worried the lighting is not showing true colors of the two new paint colors. Would it make sense to do one feature wLl in the darker color on the right and rest of the room in the lighter color on the left?

I guess I am going to be the odd man out...but I would do the lighter color it will keep your space bright and updated lighter wall colors are where design and decor are heading and golden paint colors have been on the way out the past few years....greige colors are very popular it bridges the gap between beiges and gray tones and can be used with warm and cool tones in design! It will really give contrast and your cabinets will really pop! Good Luck

I like the darker color, on the right, better than the lighter one! It will give you more color in the rooms and it looks fantastic with everything you are doing. Please post photos once you have everything done!

Agree. Color on the right has more oomph to it and will look great with the dove white cabinets.

I would do the whole thing with the one on the right. I also like your idea of a dark floor.

Home Interiors with Ease... I am just curious about your suggestion. We did look at some neutral griege colors. I liked the BM revere pewter and a couple others, however, I just couldn't see how the more modern cool colors could work with our warm black, gold,beige stuff!?!?

Edge comb gray or Revere pewter would be a very pretty back drop for your warm furniture....love the drama of the black drapes...

Remember you don't necessarily need it to match everything but be a complement throughout the space.....if you do paint out a swatch it is best when painted onto a white board for true results. Good luck:))

I would suggest you get your flooring in; your cabinets; countertops and backsplash installed BEFORE you commit to a paint color! It's so easy to pre-select everything that looks great in a showroom, then with your space and lighting it all looks so different.

I agree Barbara, however we hired a contractor that requires the painting be done once the cupboards are in but before the floor is refinished!
