I send my special quilts to Mz grammyp and she makes it extra special for me. :-)

I do the same as grammyp - let each block "speak" to me as to how to quilt it. :)

Sometimes I like to hand embroider blocks for baby quilts, especially. I couldn't think of quilting over my time consuming hand embroidery. So I hand quilt around each embroidered figure or object and then hand quilt around each embroidered block - about 1/4" in from the seam where the quilt blocks join.

I have given thought to hand quilting the whole quilt since the scene pictures just don't lend themselves to machine quilting. I have to think about what you all have said.
