Choosing paint color for exterior of mid-century modern home

I am hoping to do a makeover on the exterior paint color and landscaping of my new home. I would like to achieve more of a serene, minimalist, natural concept vs. the existing 3 color exterior and more formal landscape plan. I prefer charcoal gray as a paint choice.....is it too much to do the whole thing in one color? Landscape.....more of a natural, less structured look. Home is in Grand Rapids, MI. Also need to soften with plantings the unattractive fence on side of home which hides the yard/pool. Any suggestions appreciated.

Gorgeous house. Since it is a mid-century mod... go with one of these, as they are the color palette for the era.

Your charcoal is a lovely choice; you may want to consider painting the entrance alcove a shade lighter, so it doesn't recede into blackness.
Notice from your ideabook that you are drawn to structured plantings. - The plant material at present doen't look formal, so much as undersized, and spaced too randomly. I would rec. adding vertical elements, such as a cloud pruned evergreen to the right of the picture window. and taller tree to frame the view of you house/property.

A reduction of the types of plant material along the walkway will give you a more restful look, as would just straightening th path. I see what you are aiming at there, but again the pavers are too small to give a sense of dimension or angles - instead they appear unsteady to walk on. 24" is a one person trail, generally best used for side and back yard traversing. Picture two guests in heels trying to get to your door...

Eunymous, cypress and junipers are all structural evergreens appropriate to your house style with a variety of height and color variations (blue varieties would look especially nice) to give you a more natural look.Touches of golden arborvitae (or something similar) can be used as punctuation marks against darker or more blue tones to draw the eye toward the door( and away rom the pool wall)

Like the dark gray for the body of the house. Agree with studio, paint the entry a lighter shade of gray. Also I would paint the underside of the roof overhangs that same shade. Light gray trim except for the roof fasha boards those I would paint dark gray Add a punch of color to the front door, maybe a vibrant blue. Color along the walk. Nice house.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful suggestions! Mahomie, yes....you are right on with the charcoal/steel gray I envision for the exterior. And I appreciate studio and honeapathsc suggestion of going shade lighter into entry. Front door is glass framed in steel, so paint not an option. Will have to pop color in planter or other.........

I love the idea of mixing colors with the grey. Interiors had some great color choices.

I love this house!!!! I actually tried to talk my husband into purchasing this home a few years ago. :) Funny, small world!
