I moved into this house last year and have inherited a beautiful garden with tones of plants, shrubs and trees I'm constantly googling and researching trying to determine what I have and the best way to care for them. (Total gardening beginner)

Any idea what this shrub is?

In early spring (for Newfoundland standards, zone 5) the shrub was covered in purple blooms. It has now turned green and bears red "fruit". Any ideas? Apologize for the picture quality
