Live edge can mean bark intact or bark removed. Either way,the edge isn't cut or planed.

Thanks that helped. in thinking this over, I think the bark on would be scratchy and unpleasant to have behind my legs. Good ideas on how to remove the bark? I've never done this and probably don't have the right tools but what the heck I'm always game for something new. And thank goodness for You Tube.

IDK how possible it is to remove tight bark w/o possibly scarring the cambium.

Much depend's on what season tree is hearvested, how long before sawn and how it's cured. The best way I've found to remove bark from logs is with power washer with turbo noozle. Bark on sawn planks can be loosened by wetting and drying bark a few times.
