Electrolux is leaking

It seemed to do it during the spin cycle though I could be wrong. It's not leaking now, but we have the plumber scheduled to come tomorrow to put a "kill switch" on the pipes as I can't turn off easily. It's not leaking at the hoses. I called the place we bought from, and they are coming tomorrow. Any guesses on what it might be? I'm glad we put the drain pan under it!

    Where is it leaking from?

It seems like it's from the bottom right (as you look at the machine)

    Keep us posted.

I'll update more later, but it's a bad tub gasket. It's only 3 weeks old, but the repairman said it probably was doing it from beginning. I just had a larger load yesterday, so more water was pushed out.

Are you repairing or sending it back?

Repairing. I bought it at clearance, so I can't get another for the same price. I do have an extended warranty that has a lemon replacement. Hopefully this will be it.

Sash..was it a return machine..is that why it was clearanced? I'm sorry for your troubles...please keep us posted.

It wasn't a return machine, it was a floor model so I thought I'd be safe with that. The part should be in next week, and it doesn't leak on smaller loads, so I will just have to be careful.I thought of returning it since I'm still within 30 days but I just looked at the lemon law again, and if they come out 3 times to repair it gets replaced. So I'm ok with that. Thank you, mama, my husband reminded me our previous washer broke within a few months after we bought it, but didn't have problems after that. So hopefully this will be the same.

Today is the 30th day I bought the machines. They were installed on the 8th. Just wondering if I should go ahead and get the 517 washer in titanium instead. The repairman told my husband there was a little rust beginning to form right below where it's leaking. I'd have to pony up another $200 but maybe it's worth it. My husband thought it was probably ok, but I don't know. The store is wonderful, but even the repairman was surprised by the problem.

Your Elux 60 sounds like more problems waiting to happen. If you already have rust read corrosion after three weeks, it is not unlikely that other metal parts will be rusting up too. Why take the chance? Use your leverage with the store to do an exchange on the washer now. Did you say you get a new machine after three problems? Negotiate, the worst they can say is no.

That lemon law is it 3 problems period...or 3 of the same problems?

Rust after a few weeks...geesh..send it back.

It's 3 of any problem. I agree it's going back. I just talked to the store, and the manager is out til Monday. But they are aware of the issue and want to talk to me about other options. I don't think they have any more of the 60 titanium washers. So I'll probably go with the 517. We'll see.

I never did update. Apparently, Electrolux had a problem with some gaskets. I noticed in reviews that there have been a few leaks with the newer ones as well. The repairman came yesterday and basically replaced everything inside, pump, motor, tubs, etc. All new, only the outside of the washer is the same. (There are no more 60's in Titanium). And it is leaking, again. So I'm getting the 517 set Tuesday, in white. If this leaks, I'm getting a Speed Queen.

Thank you. It's a little frustrating, but the appliance company has been great. After talking to them again, I'm getting the 517 titanium set Tuesday. I had to pay a little extra as I did get a good deal on the 60, but they worked with me. Fingers crossed with this one. I love how it cleans, and would prefer to stick with the front loader.

    Thanks Poppy

Sash..I'm sorry for all your washer problems. What a pain this is with washers being moved in and out. I wish you the best of luck with the next one.

How important is a heater to you? LOL

I definitely prefer a heater. The front loader cleans better than our previous top loader. I didn't think I would notice a difference, but stains come out with a lot less effort! The 517 has a heater so I hope this one will be good!

Sash I ask about the heater because you said if the 517 has problems your getting a SQ..they don't have heaters. LOL.

Also your aware the 517 will use less water?? I just don't you have a shock LOL.

After using a front loader with the heater, I definitely would miss it. I I have to remind myself that all front loaders don't leak, lol. My neighbor has a Speed Queen and loves it, but after using my Electrolux for a month, I love the cleaning. Tier 3 gets me a little nervous but I have been hearing good reports. The next machine up is a 617 with a 3rd pump, and I know it's supposed to clean great, but I figured at this point it might be something else to break. Ironically after using a non electronic washer for years, I was afraid something computer based would break. And what breaks, a simple tub gasket.

sashanikki did you get your 617 as of yet? Cannot wait to hear about it...hope this one is a good machine for you. If nobody has noticed, the reviews as of recent are solid 5 star reviews. I absolutely now love it more that the HE2T.

I get it tomorrow. Ill update after a load or two. I'm glad to hear you love it! I'm actually getting the 517, but it's almost identical. It just doesn't have the third pump that mixes the detergent.

I bought our current Electrolux dishwasher in 2010. I love it. Quiet, cleans fantastically. BUT. It leaked once before and now again. Ruined parts of my floor this time. The first time it was the left corner of the gasket. We could see where the tray rolls back and forth over it , ( not good seemingly) it had come apart. This time I have no idea what happened. Trying to decide whether to pay to fix it or but a new one. My floor can't take another leak but there's a chance anyone could leak.
