Quick! 3/4 inch overhang ok for island ends?

They broke my original island slab, and the replacement slab from the same lot is a little short. They can do full 1.5 on drawer/door sides of the island (working sides), and 3/4 on the two ends. We moved a piece of my counter to mimic that look, and it looks good to me. Is there a problem with doing 3/4"?

I would think it's fine. More is better to protect the cabinets from spills, but if that's what you need to do to get the slab you want, go for it.

3/4 to 1" is fairly standard on the ends.

Do you have decorative doors or end panels on the ends? If so, be sure the counter will cover them. Not only will it protect them, but if it doesn't cover them, it will look wrong/off.

We do have decorative end panels, and the counter will overhang them by 3/4".
