Cast your votes aside.

You know, when the top plant scientists in the world(the ones that give all plants their Latin names),when they get together to identify a species and they have a differing of opinions, do you think they take a vote and the majority wins? No,they keep on doing more DNA tests and scrutinizing the results, no matter how long it takes, until they reach a unanimous decision that the plant can only be one thing only. What darkness we would be walking in if they did use the voting method. So shouldn't us normal folk here on GW try to aspire to the same goal.Regular people getting together and voting is why we have a lot of confusion with common names that are given to several totally unrelated plants like for example stinging nettle and moss rose. I find it a bit annoying when I'm in a creative discussion with members and people chime in "I vote this" Most of the time that's all they say even though they could at least include a couple lines stating while they feel that way. Then their comment would be more interesting and not a waste of time reading. I think saying you agree with someone is fine because that tells us you have the same observations as the person you're agreeing with. Also when members are in a creative discussion and you just chime in with that "I vote" one liner it feels like you are trying to rush and abruptly end an enjoyable creative process. So what? Should we all just stop and take a vote so we can end this post and move onto the next one and do it all over again. There are serious plant lovers on here who thirst for more knowledge and you voters are like pesky Gnats buzzing in the faces of serious members sitting at the picnic table of creative discussion. And God forbid, but I think some people may be using their votes to show favoritism to members they like and as a way to cast shade on members they dislike. I think there is no place on this website for this kind of behavior. We should all be above that. You've got Facebook and Twitter for taking cyber digs at other people if that's your thing.
