The offset mirrors look fabulous as do the pendant lights. You've done a really fine job on remodeling your bathroom! Congratulations and many thanks for sending the photos. The mystery of how the mirrors seem to be suspended in space is a little lost in photos, but having seen the same thing in person, I know it's truly impressive.

Does this help? There are two cleats that are attached to the wall, two attached t the mirror and they rest upon one another. I think this is the best photo I have of how it looks.

Thanks for the compliment. We have an early 70s home that has been neglected for a couple of decades. It's a work in progress. Each year, we tackle a new project. We had never done more than plan paint colors and new duvets, so this was a big deal for us.

I recommend framed art mirrors. Try Kirklands. Much cheaper than a glass shop.

Here's a fun trick for you ... I found an etched mirror at lowes or home depot (frameless) and dressed it up/gave it a custom look by building a frame around it with moulding that matched my cabinets. Or just leave it frameless. MUCH cheaper than buying it custom and having it beveled

Gorgeous! Can I ask what sinks you used? Are they Kohler? Also like your pulls -- do you mind sharing what they are? What is the name of your granite? It looks alot like the White Galaxy I have chosen for my guest bath. You have great taste!

Kaveratir - the sinks are Kohler. They are the verticyl rectangle model. The top is not granite. It is carrera marble. The white galaxy is mostly gray with white striations. This marble is more white with gray striations. Go to your local stone shop and check them out side by side. I like the utility of the granite, but I really wanted the whiter look. Thank you for your compliment. I received a lot of advice on this site from Carolyn above, so I cannot take too much credit.
As for the pulls, I will ask my cabinet maker. They were something I saw on the 'wall of pulls' at his shop. I will ask and let you know. I'm sure they were nothing custom or special, since they fit the allowance given in the quote and there was no special order involved.

They were made locally by Kraemer Brothers Glass in Camp Hill, PA

Go as big on the mirror as possible without going over the width of the vanity!

Thanks. All fixtures, except the handheld in the shower are Brizo Siderna. We used the handheld Brizo Siderna in a second bathroom (which I will post soon) and would recommend it over what is pictured in this bathroom.

Wow, nicely done! I'm currently working on my bathroom and unsure what size mirrors to go with 60' vanity as well. Glad I found this post. Can't wait to see your room completely styled.

Also, where did you get the glass shelves for the open cabinet?

Our cabinet builder (Oak Park Cabinets in Harrisburg, PA) made the insert cabinet to match the vanity and they had a local glass company make the shelves.

Glass company coming out tomorrow to measure for the mirrors. I'll ask about the shelves as well. Thanks for responding.

Hello...I'm in the process of planning a remodel of our ugly master bath and came across this conversation. I like the idea of the suspended mirror. My question is, what 'glue' was used to attach the boards to the back of the mirrors? Mirrors are heavy...and I can see this as being my husband's objection.

Carolyn, I'm remodeling our master bath. I think you have me confused with earthluvnmama. I was asking the question of what 'glue' was used to attach the hinge boards to mirrors. I have another master bathroom question for you. I'm thinking of doing board and batten on the walls. I think it would look good with the vintage clawfoot tub I purchased. How tall on the wall? Should it go the entire perimeter of the bath? Behind the mirrors over the vanity?

Sorry about that, mschultz! Board and batten would look great behind the tub. Beyond that, I'd need to see the layout of the room. Take a look at board and batten in the photo section of houzz for additional ideas.

Thanks Carolyn...in the mean time, I've decided to sell the vintage clawfoot and stick with the existing tub. Resurfacing it when the rest of the bath is done. Too much money to make the tub work and we don't plan to be in the house too many more years. I still may do the board and batten in the other, smaller bath.

Encountered a major issue with the glass/mirror company in my area. I assumed offset was a pretty universal and descriptive term for this type of installation. Fortunately, I intervened before the installer glued them to my wall. After several conversations back and forth we were able to resolve it. Whew! My advise is to make sure they're on the same page with the terminology.

We didn't glue our mirrors, as such. We used a custom cleat system as Carolynn previously described. The mirror was glued to the clear which then 'sat' into the second cleat. The mirrors are about an inch from the wall, so they almost appear to float. The cleats do not show unless you really get around the side and look in.

Thanks for responding Earthluvnmama, I understood, however, the glass company misunderstood the "offset" installation. We have since rectified the issue and my mirrors are installed on cleats. The point I wanted to make for anyone seeking this look was to make sure you thoroughly explain an offset installation.

Would you also recommend this "offset"/cleat system for one large mirror above a 85" Vanity with 2 sinks?

I also have a 60" double vanity( with Kohler Caxton instead of Verticyl sinks. ) I am using these 18" x 36" RH modern mirrors. That was as wide as I could go and fit sconces. They are really pretty and well priced

Great advice here! I have a 93 inch double sink vanity and I love the idea of floating the mirrors. Is it possible to use 3 mirrors, 2 of them 30 x 40 over the sinks and 1 will be 21 x 40 in the middle. I will use 3 pendant lights centered above each mirror.

That should work, leaving 3" at each side and 3" also between the mirrors.

Vanity is in and lights installed. I need some ideas for the mirrors.

How much room do you have? It's probably been stated several times but I don't want to go back to read everything.

That wall is 92 wide x 52 high.

I have a 60' vanity, double sink. I know this post addressed size for 2 mirrors. What size would you recommend for 1 mirror?

With one mirror, I like it to run from the top of the splash to the ceiling and 60" wide. Otherwise, I would use two mirrors. You can frame the single mirror with picture framing materials, moldings, or tile, or with no frame at all. It would be helpful if we could see a photo of the area. It would probably help you to look in houzz's photo section for "vanity mirrors".

I have an L shaped vanity with sink and another smaller vanity with sink in master. The small part of L is (3ft wide). I have 12 ft ceilings. Over the sinks I am putting Uttermost brayden mirror, 24 x 48. The 6ft vanity that is the long part of L needs a mirror. Should a do full mirror from backsplash to ceiling? Or do a mirror that is 48" tall like others? width a few inches smaller than vanity? Thanks for your help!

We have a 60in double vanity and just got the sconces installed last night. They are stunning, but now we're concerned they are too "close" in to fit a mirror directly centered over the sinks!! I'd be so bummed if we can keep them and need to do a bath bar. I need to take a photo of it, but hoping they can move the sconces over a bit.

Looks great! I have a similar layout and similar vanity going into our Master bath. Question about Earthluvnmama's faucets. We did our kids bath with high arched faucets and find the vanity top is always wet. They just don't put their hands down into the sink, they hold them up closer to the water and it splashes on the counter. In our master I'm trying to find a faucet with a longer "throw" (like the "roman tub" faucets) as these seem to barely reach over the drain hole. They're so close to the back wall of the sink, it's hard to put your whole hand under the water, like your washing your fingertips. Also want one maybe not so high up, but we want a single handle. It seems the single handle ones have to be tall to accommodate the plumbing inside? Anyone else run into this? Thoughts?

AL - we have that issue. We remodeled this when my daughter was very young. She had a step stool to get up higher and we still keep hand towels close to wipe up any errant water. I would suggest the complimentary drain. We have this very same faucet in a second bathroom, where we don't have this issue. Only difference is in my bath, we went with a Kohler drain (an executive decision our plumber and contractor made when the dealer didn't order drains and we were in a time bind). In our other bath, we went with the Brizo drain that matched the faucet, which has a much wider circle that the water hits and dissipates over and around. I could be just simply be attributing the difference to the drain or it really could be what keeps it from splashing. It is the ONLY difference in the two sinks.
