Sand

Didn't want to clutter the newbie learning thread with this, but I thought it was funny...

So when we were looking for our beach house, there were two different houses we were considering. Both near the beach, but two different beaches, about 12 miles apart, separated by an inlet.

We went for a walk on the first beach. The "sand" was coarse and sharp - ground up shells and little rocks. It was painful, if not impossible to walk on barefoot.

The second beach had soft, white sand, fine like sugar - I could walk on it for miles - and still do. We're on the that beach.

So even when people talk about beach sand, it depends on whose beach you're talking about!

(And it all reminded me that I should go back to the first beach and get some sand to sift for my pots!)
