I loaded a quilt tonight that was found in my sister-in-law's grandmother's house. I hope to get it quilted this weekend and bound for her. My SIL does not quilt but she did not want this top to go unquilted. I am also working on string blocks for Talking Turkey.

My bqack is finally better and I got back in my craft room! Sandwiched the Olaf window quilt and hope to get it quilted this weekend. Got some ironing done today (sat and lowered the ironing board).

I'm in a mode of cleaning, finishing projects, dumping junk and trying to eliminate the rooms of stuff from three households we've closed out these past few years. After awhile, all the precious junk consumes you. I hope to see the bottom eventually. The thrift stores love me. I am working a bit on my depression block batik quilt that has been ongoing. It sits there and stares at me and I pick it up when I'm between other things. I discovered I have it too big so I'll leave off one row each way as I continue. At least I'm getting something done.

Sharon, hope you are ok. Just take it easy as long as you can.

Sewing today, I did 4 placemats, nothing fancy. I plan to do another set tomorrow but with a little detail.

That's a very cute quilt Sharon. I am in the cleanup tidyup mood this week. I finished another set of string blocks so those scraps are out of sight for a while. As an offset to quilting, I do knitting also. I like fun stuff like doll clothes. I pickup a few baby type doll throughout the year and clean them up and make a knitted wardrobe for each. This year I will donate 2 to the Shoebox Charity and one to our local Salvation Army Christmas fund. I cleaned up my wool and sorted out what I didn't want and had too many dolls on hand so donated what I won't use back to the Thrift Store. I received my order of wool for winter knitting and the new GA doll Wellie Wishes 14 1/2" tall. Very cute and designed for the younger girl 5-8 yrs so will be fun to knit for. I usually sell my outfits at craft shows. I am done with the 18" doll, she isn't very popular any more....too big for young kids. I found a Madame Alexander doll at our thrift store for $3.00. She is mint, original clothes, hair style and hair ribbon. You can still buy her for $69.99 US + shipping. I think I will make 5 nice outfits for her and resell her has a unit. The $$ will help support my fabric habits, haha. See the rain is slowing down a bit everywhere so we can get back to enjoying summer.

Theresa, Things are much better than they used to be and I'm thankful for that. Yes, just have to take a day off now and then. :-)

love2sew, Knitting doll clothes is an awesome thing for you to do. Any little girl would love getting a doll with a wardrobe made especially for it. Good for you!

Love2sew, I should do that, too! I knit and have a large cache of yarn, quite a bit in small amounts left over from other projects.

We did more work at Mom's house yesterday. DH took 200 lb (!) of junk to the landfill then we went through every book and every piece of sheet music to make sure nothing important or valuable was stashed in them. Loaded two dressers and a sewing cabinet made by my dad and brought them home. Today I am going to sort through the last of the fabric/sewing supplies stash and try to organize and put away what I've decided to keep.

Oh Donna, I do not envy you the task of cleaning out and deciding what to keep or toss. We have been having some discussions with our children about this very topic. We joke that there will be a large dumpster in the driveway. But it may not be a total joke. One of our neighbours, an 80+ widow is moving this month, to be closer to her daughter. And she can only take a few items with her. It breaks my heart to see what happens to the antiques and family heirlooms. Much being donated to charity and much has already gone to the landfill.

So sad!
