Close up of rug colors.

I would like a blue like TopSail by Sherwin Williams or Ice Cap by Benjamin Moore or a soft pretty creamy coral similar to shade in rug only a bit brighter and lighter. Nice room and very pretty fireplace. When you decide on paint invest in new accessories that are variations of the paint color from light to dark.

This is also such a pretty color; Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. the dark blue coverlet reminded me of your leather sofas and the grey/blue/green in your carpet. It might be a consideration; remember monitors can be crazy on recreating colors......

I also like the pear color on the colsole; very bright.

As to what else you might change -- what else? Cause a grey might just seem dark with dark things...I had thought of the rug's soft clay/ peach too.

You didn't ask but the curtains in softer color too?

I like it the way it is now. Very traditional and warm welcoming. Maybe new throw pillows?

Help? what if the ceiling were a very subdued blue - highlight crown molding too.

Sorry for not getting back to everyone. It was a busy weekend.sorry but the peach/ coral in the rug is really more of antique gold color. My husband want to go gray however I'm not there yet.
JudyG thanks I am more traditional. I thought maybe just a lighter shade of the color it is now and yes the pillows need to be updated. I do like warmer feeling in a room.
Everdebz I have thought about paint the ceiling a soft gray/ blue like I have in another room.
One other question. ....the corner where the grandfather clock is looks cluttered to me. Should I get rid of the palm tree ?

I'd rather see nothing above the beige recliner - the plant adds something more than those items...

I agree about the things over the recliner. I've never been happy with it there. I won't be putting it back when I repainted. Thanks.

What if you chose a different shade for ceiling - more a robin's egg blue - which would seem a bit brighter than true blues?

Charcoal with sheen ? Impression of elegance with rug, etc.... yes you said traditional. What other paint colors, etc. have you two tossed about as ideas??

Just to toss this soft russet out -- it's not rose but almost seems it:

I saw at Target recliner covers on sale - and in a soft burgundy just for a change? - cause your paint seems good, though to you dark?? or what....

I would test out SW Agreeable Gray. It is a light color but has gray undertones. Would work well with your leather pieces and brighten room. But do get samples and make up sample boards to see the color in your light. Very important.

P.S. Paint the cold air return vent to match wall color when you repaint so it disappears more from view.

Thanks Flo for the color suggestion but agreeable gray would be to light for me and it goes a little to taupe in my room with the lighting. I just painted my kitchen Georgian silver(PPG Manor Hall) and a bathroom off the hall valspar seascape custom mixed at PPG . My concern is getting to much gray and it going a little to cool.
